flowery card

Made using items brought from Graphicus & the ever yummy Glimmer mists (brand new colours) yummy pink ribbon along with my ever faithful cuttlebug for the word 'Hi', plus a pen or two to colour in with. It was the backing paper that jumped out at me to make this card & I'm so pleased it did, because I feel this is one of the nicest cards made in a long time.

Don't mean to speed you all forward to Autmn, but after making a fab background using glossy card a brown inks, it just shouted Autumn to me, so dug out a leaf stamp & some rub ons & a sheet of green card & came up with this...

Flying high

I've not been about much this last week due to sorting out my craft room. Got myself a few bargains for my room in the shape of shelving for 99p & a secondhand Ikea desk for a super bargain of £16.00, which put a very big smile on my face.
Managed to squeeze a hour in to make this fun card using more Doodle factory stamps, & those fabbie pencils again. Here's my little rapper man complete with gold necklace & cap flying high in his private chopper lol.

Mono magic & a memory

I really like the way this card tuned out, so clean & crisp, black & white never dates which is why I like it & I should really use it more.

The memory trip I had today was invoked when I had a clean up in my craft room (hopping to get a new desk & shelving) & came across this wonderful rubber stamp which was the first ever stamp I brought. I remember it well... after watching Dawn Bibby on QVC for the first time years ago, I was soo taken with what I saw I just had to have a go at what looked like loads of fun....& it turned out to be just that. At the time I didn't have a heat gun so used an iron.... the wrong way round, lol, instead of putting the paper on top of the iron I tried taking the iron as close as I could with out it touching the powder. I feel so silly now thinking about it, but like so many crafters out there I've come along way since then & it turned into an addiction.. which I know sooo many can relate to. I also remember after making up I think it was something like 10 cards I'd brought I had this down feeling because I'd no more to make up, so my addiction was sealed from the off set.

MTTC challenge

I've gone for an ATC for the MTTC challenge #51 which is themed on Hats, It's really funny because I made this before I even knew what the theme was going to be. I soo love these cute little people (from Starving Artistamps) The scene is suppose to be a theatre stage with gems along the bottom for lights & velvet scrolling to depict curtains...I hope this comes across.

Derwent inktense pencils tips

In answer to Carolyn's question asking if I've any tips on using these wonderful pencils, all I can say is have a good play around with them.... one thing I will say is where you want the shaded parts, colour these first with the pencils & pull the colour away using either water or if you add a second colour you could use the blender pen, that way you'll get an image that's got a darker inner that gets lighter towards the outer part, this is the way I did both the flower cards. Try mixing colours to, first colour in an image with say a red then go over with say a brown or an orange then take the blender pen or water both give a wonderful effect. Glenda gave a great demo of these on Create & Craft (if your able to get this channel on sky, it's well worth a watch) I've looked on her website & at the moment there are no video's of this, don't know if she has any plans to add any Derwent demos, you could always drop her a line here:-
